What is CHICKWEED? CHICKWEED ~ Celebrating Indestructible Women ~ is a grass-roots fundraiser brain-child of (7) local women who participate in the art/music/dance scene in Salisbury NC. Wanting to create an opportunity to perform together, and realizing what a unique opportunity this could be, they decided that such an all~women revue had perfect synergy with a fundraising event…for women. They unanimously agreed upon supporting The Rowan Family Crisis Center and its efforts to support women victims of violence. The Family Crisis Center is right here in Rowan County’s midst, is a non-profit organization that specializes in helping those affected by rape, incest, sexual assault, and domestic violence, and needs and appreciates support from the community…this community…YOUR community.
CHICKWEED is an open-air evening of music, art, massage, and more to benefit the Rowan Family Crisis Council’s Women’s Shelter. This year will be even better and will feature 10 performers!
