What Are the CBD Oil Trends for 2021?

Must read

As we inch our way into the new year, many wonder what the new CBD oil trends of 2021 will look like.

Every year there’s a new product to emerge or other happenings in the industry people tend to gravitate towards.

We’re happy to announce some remarkable things set to take place in the industry in 2021, with an emphasis on the availability of a wide variety of high-quality products

CBD is ever-evolving and gaining mainstream attention by the second, so it’s no wonder industry leaders are finding ways to evolve this miracle compound in every beneficial way possible.

Here’s an up-close look at what you can expect from CBD this year

The Expansion of Nutraceuticals

Several CBD companies already see the benefits of merging CBD with other wellness ingredients. Still, you’ll see this enhanced quite a bit this year.

In fact, it has a name—nutraceuticals

This idea revolves around taking advantage of the health-boosting benefits of nature’s most potent players. Many people prefer plant-based alternatives over pharmaceuticals for a wide array of reasons.

You can think of nutraceuticals as supercharged supplements but further enhanced with the benefits of CBD.

More Products that Soothe Discomfort

Perhaps one of the most common reasons people turn to CBD is to reduce some discomfort in the body.

CBD is well-regarded for its ability to soothe the mind and the body. This is a major reason you’ll see an increase in the concentration of these types of products. We all know when you take CBD regularly you’re going to develop a tolerance.

As a result, the industry will respond with higher milligram products with a wide range of additional benefits based on specific consumer needs.

Brand-Owned Hemp Farms

A hemp fieldIndustrial hemp farming has taken off since The Farm Bill of 2018. Many people don’t understand all of the steps and processes involved in industrial hemp farming. Still, the companies creating the products see it’s a vital part of the manufacturing process.

This being said, many of these companies prefer to have their own hemp farms so they can fine-tune the entire process to their liking.

Specific steps such as organic farming techniques and creating and tending to a proprietary hemp strain are all intricate steps brands want to take on and oversee themselves.

CBD Products Available with Big Name Retailers

When hemp gained its legal status in 2018, many were overjoyed because they could order their favorite CBD products online and have them brought right to their door.

Well, things are getting even more exciting because when you run out of CBD, you won’t have to place an order online and wait for your order to process and ship out. Some of the biggest names in retail are jumping on the CBD train, so you have more options for buying CBD products

In fact, CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid have already taken the necessary steps to have CBD on their shelves.

CVS already has topicals products in more than 800 stores in California, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland.

Walgreens is in the process of stocking 1,500 stores with CBD topicals, patches, creams, and sprays. The first stores to receive these shipments are Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Kentucky, Tennessee, Vermont, South Carolina, Illinois, and Indiana.

Rite-Aid will stock 200 stores in Oregon and Washington with CBD creams, lotions, and lip balms.

As you can see, these stores are strictly starting with topical products. Most likely because it’s the safest approach since this type of product doesn’t enter the bloodstream.

Of course, the FDA will keep a close eye on how these companies market the CBD products in these locations. This is an important step because it could open the door to an increase in CBD in large retail stores across the country if done correctly.

A Rise in CBG and CBN Products

Breaking Down CBD Pills Vapes Gummies and TincturesThere are over 100 cannabinoids in the hemp plant, and all of them embody some distinct set of benefits. Researchers have studied many of these other cannabinoids to learn more about the therapeutic capabilities they possess.

Several companies created CBG and CBN products in 2020, and they received a great response from consumers. This means we can expect to see these types of products on the rise in 2021 for sure.

CBG is well-known as the “mother cannabinoid” because it serves as a precursor to all other cannabinoids. In the early growth phase of hemp, CBG is the only cannabinoid present. As time progresses, CBG compounds decrease and give rise to CBD, CBN, THC, and many others.

CBN is another minor cannabinoid gaining a lot of popularity—nicknamed the “ultimate relaxation” cannabinoid. CBG and CBN are both non-psychoactive with therapeutic benefits. Most likely the reason they’ve both gained popularity as of late.

Better Standardization of Products

If you’ve done your fair share of CBD shopping, you’re familiar with varying levels of standardization.

You can see how some companies keep quality and transparency in higher regard by offering readily available third-party lab tests and other information that highlights the measures taken on their part to produce high-quality products.

Industry leaders are patiently waiting for the FDA to fully embrace CBD products. Still, in the meantime, there are specific steps reputable companies take to provide their customers with peace of mind.

You’ll see those mediocre, no-name companies dwindle down as the FDA cracks down on standards, and you’ll also see an increase in some of those quality benchmarks across the industry.

Steps such as third-party lab testing, organic farming techniques, and manufacturing products in cGMP certified facilities will shine through 2021.

Wrapping Up

Who doesn’t like following up on the trends every now and then, especially when it comes to CBD?

In fact, you don’t have to be a CBD enthusiast to enjoy watching the industry grow through different trends and techniques.

It was projected the industry would grow well into the billions by 2025, and as far as we can tell, there’s no slowing down in sight.
